Tropel (Brasilien)

Bitte gebt uns einen kurze Bandvorstellung.

Nunja, wir begannen mit Tropel 2001. Wir haben nun schon das vierte Lineup. Ich glaube,daß das nun länger hält. Derzeit setzt sich Tropel aus Tony, Gesang; Andrè, Gitarre; Manoel, Bass und Marcos, Schlagzeug, zusammen. 2003 nahmen wir ein Demo auf und es gibt nun unser Album "Pela Glória das ruas" ("Für die Ehre der Straße"), welches bei "Skins on Attack" erschien.

 

Was bedeutet der Name TROPEL?

Tropel steht für Gewalt, Tumult, Unordnung, es klingt nach wütenden Stiefeln. Für mich muß ein Name gut klingen.

 

Ihr seid beim deutschen Label "Skins on Attack" unter Vertrag. Wie kam der Kontakt zustande?

Ja, Jan leistet für das Label gute Arbeit. Er entdeckte Tropel bei "myspace" und mochte die Musik. Er fragte, ob wir nicht eine CD aufnehmen wollen. Uns gefiel die Idee und das Ergebnis zeigt, daß es richtig war.

 

Seid Ihr mit dem Label zufrieden?

Auf jeden Fall, es ist ein kleines Label mit echt guten Bands. Sie arbeiten hart an der Verbreitung dieser. Wir machen mit der CD kein Geld, aber wir fanden Freunde und bekamen Anerkennung für unsere Arbeit.

 

Tropel gibt es seit 2001. Warum kam das Album erst jetzt?

Der Grund dafür ist, daß wir bisher keine gute Möglichkeit dafür fanden. Jeder von uns ist sehr eingespannt im normalem Leben, wir arbeiten alle hart, haben Familie und/oder studieren. Dies schadete schon oft der Band, sie ist ja aber nur ein Hobby und nicht das Wichtigste in unserem Leben.

 

Gefällt Euch das Album, oder würdet Ihr jetzt im Nachhinein noch Dinge ändern?

Es gibt immer Sachen, die man im Nachhinein noch ändern könnte, aber wir sind mit dem Ergebnis zufrieden und auch mit der Akzeptanz, vor allem hier in Brasilien.

 

Ich finde, daß Euer Sound stark an die Musik der 80er und frühen 90er orientiert ist. Stimmt das? Welche Bands beeinflußten Tropel?

Sicher haben wir Elemente aus den 80ern und 90ern übernommen. Ich selbst wurde viel von Bands wie Midgards Söner, Böhse Onkelz, Trouble Makers, Motörhead, Ultimo Asalto, Bandeira de Combate, Ultima Thule, Condemned 84, Templars etc. beeinflußt, aber auch von vielen anderen Stilen wie Hard Rock, Punk und Rock'n'Roll.

 

Für alle Leser, die Euch noch nicht kennen. Erzählt denen mal was über Eure Lieder.

Tropel ist Rock'n'Oi!, hart, heavy und gewalttätig, mit dem Geist von der Straße und patriotischer Note.

 

Wie sind die Reaktionen auf Eure Scheibe im In- und Ausland?

Ich glaube, daß sich die Platte besonders in Europa gut verkauft. Ich habe jetzt nicht die Möglichkeit Jan nach den genauen Zahlen zu fragen, aber ich denke, daß es sich gut entwickelt. Hier in Brasilien gab es gute Reaktionen, obwohl wir nicht groß Werbung machten und nur mehr oder weniger CDs absetzten. Dies Jahr ist für uns alle sehr schwierig. Unser Gitarrist und Mitbegründer lebt in São Paulo, ich schloß die High School ab und alles bringt die Band ziemlich durcheinander.

 

Wie sieht es mit der Skinheadszene in Brasilien aus?

Die brasilianische Szene ist großartig, trotz all der Schwierigkeiten und Probleme mit der Polizei und den Medien. Skinheads sind stark und überstehen das. Es gibt einige gute Bands wie Bandeira de Combate, Mão de Ferro, The Skulls etc. und auch einige gute Zines wie "Linha de Frente" und "Revolta Urbana".

 

Könnt Ihr Konzerte und Treffen in Eurem Land organisieren?

In unserer Stadt haben wir keinerlei Konzerte, wir spielten bisher auch nur drei Mal. In unserer Stadt gibt es keine organisierte Szene.

 

Steht Ihr mit anderen Bands aus Brasilien in Kontakt?

Ja, vor allem mit Bandeira de Combate, eine großartige nationalistische Skinhead-Band, es wird bald neues Material von ihnen geben.

 

Gibt es erwähnenswerte Zines bei Euch?

Ich erwähnte es ja vorhin schon, ich kenne das "Linha de Frente", "O Inimigo" und das "Revolta Urbana".

 

Wenn wir etwas aus Brasilien hören, dann meist über arme Leute und Gewalt in den Städten und Straßen. Erzählt uns die Wahrheit.

Brasilien ist ein reiches Land, aber all dieser Reichtum ist in den Händen einiger weniger. Dadurch entsteht logischerweise Armut und Gewalt.

 

Eure Pläne für die nächste Zeit?

Ich weiß es nicht. Evtl. ein Tribut für Bandeira de Combate und ein Sampler mit anderen lateinamerikanischen Bands. Aber wie ich schon sagte, ist es eine große Hürde, da unser Gitarrist in einer weit entfernten Stadt lebt und so alles ziemlich unbestimmt ist.

 

Plant Ihr Konzerte, vielleicht auch in Deutschland, und was müssen wir machen, um Euch hier zu sehen?

Für uns wäre es eine große Ehre in Europa zu spielen, aber es ist ein ferner Traum.

 

Eure Lieblingsbands für allezeit und warum?

Ich mag sehr gerne die Ramones, Motörhead, Skrewdriver, Ultima Thule, Midgards Söner, Garotos Podres, Mata Ratos, Guarda de Ferro, Daily Terror, Cock Sparrer, Camera Silens Trouble Makers, Komintern Sect, Plasmatics, Wasp, Templars, Perkele, Virus 27, Carbonários, Histeria OI! , Dose Brutal, Blitz und sicher eine Million weiterer Bands. Der Grund, warum ich diese Bands liebe ist, daß es lebendige Musik ist.

 

In Europa ist gerade die Europameisterschaft und Euer Land ist eine große Fußballnation. Was bedeutet Fußball für Euch? Unterstützt Ihr irgendwelche lokalen Vereine? Habt Ihr ein Favoritenteam bei der EM?

Ja, Fußball wird in Brasilien von der Bevölkerung sehr geschätzt. Ich persönlich mag Fußball nicht besonders. Ich gucke mir nur Spiele der Brasilianer an.

 

Eine andere Frage zum runden Leder. Was bedeuten Hooligans und Hooliganism für Euch?

Für mich ist es ein menschliches Phänomen. Ich weiß nicht, wie es in Europa ist, aber hier in Brasilien ist es ein Ausdruck purer Gewalt für eine blöde Sache, ohne irgendeinen kulturellen Wert. Aber ich weiß nicht, wie es in Europa aussieht, so schilder ich nur meineAnsichten.

Tropel (Brazil)

Please give us a short view over the band and the members.

Well, we start to play with Tropel in 2001. We are in the fourth line up and I believe that is most steady. Currently the Tropel is formed by Tony (vocal), Andre (guitar), Manoel (bass) and Marcos (drums). We made a demo in 2003 and a CD called „Pela Glória das ruas" ("For the glory of the streets"), by the German label "Skins on attack".

 

What means the name TROPEL?

Tropel means tumult, disorderly, is the sound of the stepped on ones of the furious boots. For me it sounds interesting.

 

You signed for the German Label "Skins on Attack". How came the contact together?

Yes, Jan makes a great work on the label. He know Tropel on myspace and liked our music and he invited us to release a compact disc. We like the idea and the result seems that it was good.

 

Are you content with the label?

Yes, it is a small label with good bands in cast. They work hard in the spreading. We don’t give any money with the compact disc, but we give good friends and recognition for our work.

 

Tropel exist since 2001. Why the album came so late?

Basically ‚ ‘cause we dont have a good chance. In any way our life this way is very agitated, all we works hard, have family, studies and many times the band is harmed, we have the band like a hobby and not a priority in our lives.

 

Is the album all right or would you make things yet better?

It is always possible to make something better, but we like resulted it and the acceptance, especially out of Brazil.

 

I find your sound like the 80s and early 90s. Is it right? Which style are the influences of Tropel?

Certainly we have elements of  80s and 90s bands. I particularly I am inspired in bands as Midgards Söner, Böhse Onkelz, Trouble Makers, Motörhead, Ultimo Asalto, Bandeira de Combate, Ultima Thule, Condemned 84, Templars etc. And , of course, many others of other styles as hard rock, punk and rock and roll.

 

For all readers who don’t know you, tell them a bit over your songs.

Tropel is Rock n’ Oi, hard, heavy and violent, with a street and patriotic spirit.

 

How are the resonance of your record? In your country and out of your country.

I believe that the sales in the Europe are well, not yet I had a chance to ask for Jan on necessary numbers, but I find that you going well. Here in Brazil, although the good acceptance, we did not make a good divulgation and the sales are more or less. This year we were very difficult for all. Our guitarist and co-founder of the band are living in São Paulo, I finished my graduation on high school recently and everything this very confused the band

 

How is the Skinheadscene in Brazil?

The brazilian scene is great, although all the difficulties and problems with the police and the media, skins keep the alive and strong spirit. There are some good bands as Bandeira de Combate, Mão de Ferro, The Skulls etc. and some good zines as "Linha de Frente" and "Revolta Urbana".

 

How show it with concerts and meetings in your country?

In our city we don’t have gigs! , we played only three times. Theres not a organized scene on our city.

 

Are you in contact with other Bands from Brazil?

Yes, basically with Bandeira de Combate, great nationalistic skin band , they are preparing material new at soon.

 

Give it any Zines in Brazil?

As I mentioned before, I know the "Linha de Frente", "O Inimigo" and the "Revolta Urbana".

 

When we hear something about Brazil we hear from poor people and violence in the towns and streets. Tell us the truth.

Brazil is a very rich country, but all this wealth is concentrates at the hands of few people, it’s generates much poverty consequently and much violence.

 

What your plans in near future?

I dont know, perhaps let us participate of a tribute to the Bandeira de Combate and a compilation with other Latin bands. But as I said, our guitarist is living in another city and this becomes any uncertain plan.

 

Plan you concerts maybe in Germany and what we must do to see you here?

For we would be an honor to play in Europe, but everything this is a distant dream.

 

Your favorite Bands for all times and why?

Well I like Ramones, Motörhead, Skrewdriver, Ultima Thule, Midgards Söner, Garotos Podres, Mata Ratos, Guarda de Ferro, Daily Terror, Cock Sparrer, Camera Silens Trouble makers, Komintern Sect, Plasmatics, Wasp, Templars, Perkele, Virus 27, Carbonários, Histeria OI! , Dose Brutal, Blitz and plus a million of bands. The reasons to like these bands are in the fact of that your music make feel alive.

 

In Europe is now the European championship of soccer, your land are a great soccer-nation. What are football for you? Have you a local team that you support? Have you a favorite team which win the European cup?

Yes, the soccer in Brazil is very apreciated by the people, I particularly don’t like soccer, I see only the games of the Brazilian selection.

 

An other question about the round leather. What are Hooligans and Hooliganism for you? Is it your thing or not?

For me it is only a human phenomenon. I dont know how it is in the Europe, but here in Brazil, for me is only an expression of free violence, for a stupid cause, does not add any cultural value. But I don't know how is in the Europe also it is thus, it says what me?
